Das Eisenkraut Red With White Eye ist eine besonders hübsche Verbene für den Balkon oder als Beeteinfassung. Ihre hübschen roten Blüten mit weißer Mitte leuchten über den ganzen Sommer hinweg.
Eisenkraut, oder auch Verbene, ist für Beetränder oder Balkonkästen und -töpfe besonders gut geeignet. Die Pflanzen sind einjährig und vertragen auch heiße und trockene Bedingungen. Sie blühen meist über den ganzen Sommer von Juni bis September. Das europäische Eisenkraut ist als Urform eine alte Heilpflanze, die gegen Kopfschmerzen, Depressionen, Darmbeschwerden oder auch zur Wundheilung verwendet wurde.
Aussaat & Anbau:
Die Aussaat erfolgt ab März in Vorkultur drinnen oder ab Ende April ins Freiland, wenn keine Fröste mehr drohen. Die Samen nur leicht mit Erde abdecken und konstant feucht halten. Verbenen mögen einen sonnigen Standort und der Boden sollte eher mager, durchlässig und trocken sein. Wer zu dichte Böden hat, sollte diese vorher mit etwas Sand auflockern.
