Der Klatschmohn mit seinen wunderschönen leuchtend roten Blüten ist eine Zierde in jeder Wiese und jedem Blumengarten. Früher säumte er die Felder und Wiesen, heute ist diese klassische Wildblume durch intensive Landwirtschaft und den starken Einsatz von Herbiziden selten geworden. Der Klatschmohn galt früher als eine bedeutende Heilpflanze wird aber heute nur noch als Hausmittel gegen z.B. Husten und Schmerzen eingesetzt.
Aussaat & Anbau:
Die Aussaat erfolgt breitwürfig direkt ins Freiland im Herbst (August/September) oder Frühjahr (März bis Mai). Nur dünn mit Erde bedecken als Schutz vor Vögeln. Mohnblumen mögen einen gut durchlässigen Boden in vollsonniger Lage. Klatschmohn sät sich selbst aus, der Samen übersteht Jahre im Boden.
