Die Kornblume ‚Blauer Junge‘ (Centaurea cyanus) ist eine sehr beliebte Pflanze für den Balkon. Die zahlreichen blauen Blüten erscheinen die ganze Saison hindurch. Sie bevorzugt einen sonnigen bis halbschattigen Standort und ein durchlässiges Substrat. Staunässe und im Topf stehendes Wasser führen unvermeidlich zu Fäulnisbildung. Außerdem ist das regelmäßige Gießen im Sommer besonders wichtig: Morgens und abends ist der beste Zeitpunkt dafür. Gießen Sie langsam und nach Möglichkeit nicht über Blüten oder Blätter.

Aussaat & Anbau:
Aussaat ins Freiland von März bis April. Samen 0,5 – 1 cm mit Erde bedecken. Die Keimung erfolgt innerhalb von 10 – 14 Tagen bei 12 – 18°C Bodentemperatur. Regelmäßig gießen und die Pflanze zwischenzeitlich abtrocknen lassen. Centaurea cyanus ‚Blauer Junge‘ wächst aufrecht und erreicht gewöhnlich eine Höhe von 40 – 60 cm und wird bis zu 20 – 30 cm breit. Dies ist eine schnell wachsende Pflanze.
