Info:
Der Mangold Lucullus oder auch Fordhook Giant genannt, ist seit 1934 eine der beliebtesten Sorten. Er hat ein sehr feines Aroma, feste dunkelgrüne, knackige Blätter und kräftige, saftige weiße Stiele und Blattrippen. Er wird bis zu 60 cm groß und produziert bis in den Spätherbst kontinuierlich neue Blätter, wenn er regelmäßig geerntet wird.
Aussaat & Anbau:
Mangold ist ein einfach anzubauendes Gemüse. Er ist schnellwüchsig, hat eine lange Erntezeit und toleriert Halbschatten, schlechten Boden und ein wenig Vernachlässigung. Die Aussaat erfolgt ab Mai nach den letzten Frösten ins Freiland ca. 3 cm tief mit einem Abstand von ca. 30 cm. Liebt lockere humose Böden. Die Ernte kann ab Juni erfolgen, wobei man die äußeren Stiele abschneidet ohne das Herz zu verletzen.
