Mauerpfeffer hat dichte, niedrige Stängel, die ganzjährig vielfältige Flächen bedecken. Die kleinen, fleischigen Blätter vom Mauerpfeffer erscheinen in senkrechten Spalten. Sie verwandeln Trockenmauern in eine grüngelbe Wand und überziehen Steinhaufen mit einer blühenden Matte. Eine große Anzahl goldgelber Sternblumen öffnen sich im Sommer. Sedum acre bietet Bienen und anderen Insekten Nahrung. Gartenfreunde schätzen den Scharfen Mauerpfeffer an stark besonnten Plätzen. Wunderschön wirken die kleinen Polster zwischen lockeren Gräsern und vereinzelten Stauden auf einem Trockenrasen.

Aussaat & Anbau:
Er wächst bevorzugt auf steinigem Boden und wird daher auch oft zur Dekoration von Steingärten und Trockenmauern verwendet. Er hat leuchtende, goldgelbe Blütenblätter mit einer Blühzeit von Juni bis August. Diese anspruchslose Sedumpflanze ist sehr robust und verträgt viel Trockenheit da sie in in seinen Blättern Wasser speichert.
