Der Rosenkohl Long Island Improved ist eine traditionelle Sorte aus den USA. Sie wird dort seit ca. 1890 angebaut und hat sich dort als wichtige Sorte etabliert. Die kompakte Pflanze bildet massenhaft dunkelgrüne, 3cm große, feste Röschen. Rosenkohl passt hervorragend als Gemüsebeilage zu Fisch- und Fleischgerichten. Auch unterschiedliche Wildsorten werden mit diesem vitaminreichen Gemüse abgerundet.

Description
Aussaat & Anbau:
Die Aussaat kann ab April ins Freiland erfolgen. Aussaattiefe sollte ca. 0,5-1cm betragen. Ein Reihenabstand von 50 x 50cm ist erforderlich. Da Rosenkohl zu den Starkzehrern gehört benötigt er einen sonnigen bis halbschattigen geschützen Standort. Ein humoser, nährstoffreicher, lehmhaltiger Boden ist optimal. Der Boden sollte tiefgründig aufgelockert und mit Gartenkompost und Horngries angereichert werden. Die Pflanzen sollten permanent feucht gehalten und im Frühsommer zur höheren Stabilität angehäufelt werden.
