Das auch in Europa beheimatete und sehr bekannte Vergissmeinnicht blüht nicht nur reichlich sondern auch besonders ausdauernd. Die kleinen Einzelblüten changieren in ein strahlendes Weiss und sitzen so zahlreich auf der kompakt wachsenden Pflanze dass sie einen wunderbaren Kontrast zu dem flaumigen, dunkelgrünen Laub bilden. Unzählige Mythen gibt es über die Namensgebung des Vergissmeinnichts. Eine davon besagt, dass die kleine Gartenpflanze Gott bat, sie nicht zu vergessen, als er gerade Namen für alle erschaffenen Pflanzen vergeben hat. So hat es das Vergissmeinnicht geschafft, auch in unseren Köpfen zu bleiben und ist somit zu einem unverzichtbaren Frühlingsblüher geworden.

Aussaat & Anbau:
Ursprünglich sind die Pflanzen in Waldgebieten beheimatet und kommen daher auch mit schattigen und halbschattigen Standorten sehr gut zurecht. Zur Saisonbepflanzung kann das Vergissmeinnicht aber auch sonnig stehen. Die Gartenpflanzen stellen keine besonderen Ansprüche an die Bodenbeschaffenheit. Bei einer Dauerbepflanzung werden aber lockere, humose Böden bevorzugt. Die Pflanzen müssen gleichmäßig feucht gehalten werden. Staunässe muss aber unbedingt vermieden werden, da die Wurzeln sonst faulen können. Zusätzlicher Dünger ist nicht notwendig. Um das Vergissmeinnicht im Freien zu überwintern, sollten die Pflanzen durch eine Reisigauflage geschützt werden.
