Bei Zitronengras handelt es sich um eine Pflanze aus der Familie der Süßgräser. Wie der Name schon erahnen lässt, duftet das Gras leicht nach Zitrone. Auch der Geschmack ist leicht zitronenartig und erfrischend. Als Gewürz genutzt findet man das Gras in der fernöstlichen Küche. Egal ob Suppe, Fisch, Fleisch, Salat, Curry oder Reis, Zitronengras kann nahezu für jedes asiatische Gericht verwendet werden. Auch als Tee ist Zitronengras eine absolute Köstlichkeit.
Aussaat & Anbau:
Da Zitronengras zum Keimen Temperaturen zwischen 20 und 25 Grad benötigt, sollte die Aussaat im Topf erfolgen. Der passende Zeitpunkt für die Aussaat ist von Ende Januar bis Anfang März. Dazu befüllt man den Topf mit Aussaaterde, streut die Samen darauf und deckt mit ein wenig Kompost ab. An einem sonnigen, hellen und trockenen Platz sollte das Gras danach gepflanzt werden. Dazu ist ein durchlässiger, humoser Boden am besten geeignet. Empfehlenswert wäre, etwas Blumenerde mit Sand und Kies zu mischen.
